The installation explores the growth and renewal of marginal places through dense, section-like spatial formations and direct public participation. Drawing on the western Chinese concept of “Gu,” it works from within existing environments, materials and behaviours, allowing interventions to emerge through interaction with a place.
Visitors join the architects through tactile, visual and collective actions. Inserting flowers, paper strips or seeds becomes a form of planting thoughts and vitality into the spatial field. As these small contributions accumulate, an abstract formation becomes a changing forest of relationships. The work makes participation, time and continued transformation the means of attending to lives and possibilities at the margins.
