Sky wells and walkways at different levels connect the library, museum and community arts centre. Halls alternate with courts to bring daylight deep into the building. Courts separate museum galleries, while upper reading areas step back towards the light, giving each institution distinct spaces within a shared layout.

Galleries, landings and stairs surround the tall central atrium, allowing views between floors. White frames support a folded glass roof; coloured panes cast patches of light onto the floor, while frosted glazing softens sunlight around the perimeter. Changing light, views and levels give the interior clarity and depth.
