Bronze Drum Plaza brings culture, sport, commerce and hospitality together as a waterfront civic centre between the old and new urban districts. Bounded by rivers on two sides and urban roads on the others, the fan-shaped site is organised through a combination of buildings, plazas and public roof terraces.

The design draws relationships of turning, interlocking and unfolding from local legend and the Taiji diagram. Spiral geometry guides the buildings around the plaza, extending into stepped roof terraces that meet pedestrian spaces at ground level. Places to pause, rest and gather continue onto the buildings. Geometry thus shapes both the architectural outline and the sequence of public spaces, giving cultural references a spatial form that people can enter and use.

The hotel and indoor sports arena are the principal volumes. A bookstore, science and technology centre, digital activity spaces and a cinema occupy the area between them, while the commercial pedestrian street incorporates an open roof plaza. Shared public spaces connect these programmes, accommodating both larger cultural and sporting events and everyday recreation. Glass curtain walls and horizontal louvers follow the flowing lines of the composition.
